"I purchased this book from Pepper Anne back in October at a book signing. Just finished reading it and enjoyed it very much. I hope she writes a sequel to it because as she says at the end of the book “That being so, it’s evident the entire tale of Bob Leach has yet to be told”. - Amazon Reviewer
"I just read the whole book! This was the first book that I have ever read from front to back in my whole 31 years of life. I absolutely loved it, great book! With me being in the Texas rodeo scene, I have some friends that know Mr. Bob and I've heard stories of him from my friends. I didn't think of Bob when you and I met when you were telling me a little bit about the book, until I started reading it. I couldn't put it down it, it was so awesome. I'm so ready for your next book as I can't wait to read it also!" - Cody Mills
"I got this book at a library event so am not a verified purchaser via Amazon. The book is a quick and entertaining read. As a Texan, I'd heard about the jail break but knew nothing more. The coverage of the jail break and manhunt is interesting, but I found the rustling story to be the best part of the book. It seems like the author did more sleuthing on the rustling than the police did or more of the characters involved would have been jailed. The book is extensively annotated and the police/detectives should use it to pursue many who have so far avoided charges." - Amazon Reviewer
"If you were a fan of Dallas, then you will love "The Notorious Texas Swindler". In this real life modern cattle rustler saga, Digger Barnes is Bob Leach in real life. The female version of J.R. Ewing and the master of manipulation is Tami Holland. Tami's wheeling and dealing would make J.R. Ewing blush. While Digger Barnes' weakness was booze, Bob Leach had a weakness for women. Follow along as Bob finds the money and in true Dallas, style, Tami plays to Bob's weakness and leaves him high, dry and broke. Bob Leach masterminds two jail breaks like a true Texan cowboy, hell bent on revenge on his true live, Tami Holland. Enjoy this real life version of Dallas, "The Notorious Texas Swindler", by an amazing author and storyteller, Pepper Anne." - Barnes & Noble Reviewer
"The author did her research and presented so much information on this modern-day cattle rustler. I found this book extremely well written providing much Texas history. The authors vivid language instantly transported me back to the old west. I had no idea that in the twenty first century an individual could still be jailed for cattle rustling. Not only is the book rich with Texas history but the story line has it all corruption, theft, scams and twisted relationships. For anyone interested in True Crimes and history this is the book for you." - Amazon Reviewer
"Ho! Ho! Ho! That’s what Bob Leach asked his wife Tami to get him for Christmas and that's just what she did. Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful. After reading this story, I am so thankful for our law enforcement folks who tracked these crooks down and put them back behind bars where they belong. This story has so many twists and turns in it about a man who stole millions of dollars worth of cattle throughout his lifetime, conned many, kidnapped several, escaped jail twice and was infamously known as the ring leader of the Grayson County Five. He married a woman who committed crimes of larceny right alongside him, not to mention approved his extra martial affairs with other women, so the two could pocket even more money together, but in the end, she left him high and dry and claimed innocent in her part of everything. Read how Pepper Anne uncovers the hidden truths that nobody saw coming and what the others who got away with their parts in the crimes are doing today." - Barnes & Noble Reviewer
"If you’re at all interested in the accurate account of historic Texans and events this is an essential to add to your collection! The details and depth the author goes into takes you back like you were in the midst of the action. Highly recommended, an attention holding read." - Amazon Reviewer
"This was a great read and I enjoyed ever bit of it, but I'm a fan of anything having to do with Texas. The Notorious Texas Swindler is a true crime story based here in Texas and it covers Bob Leach's exploits from cattle rustling, to kidnapping, and it goes into detail about how Bob's wife, Tami, was in charge of their party ranch and all the late night happenings which were very similar to the well known Chicken Ranch in La Grange, along with Bob escaping the Grayson County Jail in 2001 with four other inmates, better known as the Grayson County Five. There were times when I laughed at some of the southern sayings that Pepper Anne put in her book to describe some of the individuals, but in truth this is real true crime at it's best. This book does not disappoint. If you are looking for the next great read that'll keep your attention and is hard to put down, this is it." - Barnes & Noble Reviewer
