One of my favorite reads is a book of poems by an author known as Atticus. He is a very talented writer and if you read one of his books, you’ll see why. The one that I have is titled, Love Her Wild. He has written several books, so don’t worry if you’re not sure which one to get, because anything by him will be great, and I have a feeling he’ll become one of your favorites too!

Do you have a certain time of day that you prefer to sit down and write? Or are you a night owl and belt it all out during the evening hours while burning the midnight oil? I don’t know that I have a particular time in mind, but I seem to be most productive during the nighttime with my writing, because that’s when it seems to be the most quiet for me.
It’s Recipe Tuesday! Does anybody have a hankering for a torte? I found a recipe from my grandma, and I haven’t tried it, but thought I’d put it out there for anyone looking to try something new.
Harvest Torte 4 c. apples sliced ½ c. sifted flour 1 egg 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. sugar 2 tsp. baking powder 1 tbsp. melted butter ½ c. nuts ½ c. dates Combine all ingredients and stir until mixed then turn into a greased 8x8x2 pan and bake at 400 for 40 minutes or until the apples are tender. (This can be checked by testing apples with a fork.) Cut in squares and serve with whipped cream or ice cream. Serves 6 to 8. Grandma Jackson When going to a book signing, what is the one thing you most enjoy?
Is it meeting new people who have the same interests as you book wise and hoping to learn about other new reads and authors who are waiting to be discovered, or is it meeting that one author and talking to them, maybe picking their brain to see where they’re creativity comes from, or do you just enjoy the atmosphere of it all? I came across the storyline for The Notorious Texas Swindler, when I was told the story by my family. It was an intriguing one and it quickly became my passion, as I was determined to expose those who did and still prey on others. Now that I’ve completed that book and am moving onto my next one, and I’m still deciding which story I think would fit me best, I’m anxiously gathering information to see what I’ll need to move forward. The fun part about it is being transported back in time to a place in history where I can learn about places and events that I might not otherwise have known about.
Bring on the next chapter, because I’m ready! How do you like your book? Do you prefer to see it acted out on the big screen by well known actors and actresses, or would you rather only read it on the pages of a book itself?
I’ve heard most people say that once a book is made into a movie, they believe the book is better than the movie itself and I have to agree. It’s always nice to see when a well written story has gained the attention of a famous movie maker who wants to see it up on the big screen, but as a writer myself, the books are just better. Do you use a computer or laptop, or do you revert back to the old style typewriter, or perhaps you choose to jot down your thoughts and ideas in a notebook?
Most everyone now relies on their computer, or laptop, to write their story, but if you don’t, then how do you write? There’s no right or wrong way and everyone has their own style and way of doing things, so what is yours? It’s Recipe Tuesday! I found one that I’d never heard of before and I think I’m going to give it a try next time I decide to serve mashed potatoes. This is one I found in the box from my Grandma Jackson, so here goes.
Lipton Potato Whip 2 lb. potatoes (6 medium) cooked 1 c. milk 2 tbsp. margarine or butter 1 envelope of Lipton Onion Soup Mix Mash potatoes and then add milk, margarine or butter and soup mix then beat until fluffy. The serving size is between 4 and 6. Grandma Jackson I hope everyone had a nice, safe Easter and that you were all able to enjoy time with your friends and family. I am so thankful to be able to celebrate the holiday with my loved ones as I'm sure you all are too.
