What is your favorite flavor: chocolate, strawberry or vanilla?
I always go with chocolate, unless Neapolitan with all three flavors is offered!

When going to a book signing, what is the one thing you most enjoy?
Is it meeting new people who have the same interests as you book wise and hoping to learn about other new reads and authors who are waiting to be discovered, or is it meeting that one author and talking to them, maybe picking their brain to see where they’re creativity comes from, or do you just enjoy the atmosphere of it all? I hope everyone had a nice, safe Easter and that you were all able to enjoy time with your friends and family. I am so thankful to be able to celebrate the holiday with my loved ones as I'm sure you all are too.
I pulled out some of my favorite DVD’s over the weekend and watched a few shows that I hadn’t seen in a while, and it was so much fun. That nostalgic walk down memory lane, watching shows as far back as when I was a kid was the best.
Anybody remember Alf, the original Quantum Leap with Scott Bakula or the show Kate & Allie? Whatever shows you enjoy, I hope they bring back great memories for you. I have been binge watching Murder She Wrote and I can’t seem to get enough of it. I know it’s an older show, and some of my favorite ones are, but between that and Simon & Simon, the old Barney Miller reruns mixed with episodes of Mike Hammer, Hart to Hart, Hunter, Mat Houston and Scarecrow and Mrs. King, these are the shows that pull me into them, making me want to solve a case and they fuel my need to tell a story. These sitcoms are not true crime, but they have a way of sparking my interest about wanting to write them.
Today’s the first day of spring and I hope you all are enjoying it! This is a short post because I have flowers to plant, a rabbit who is trying to eat my herbs that I haven't even planted yet (I just love my little bun Luce!) and a hammock to set up.
What are you doing on the first day of spring? I have a collection of elephants displayed throughout my house. I love those gentle giants, with their large trunks and oversized ears. They are some of the softest hearted beings in the world. I was admiring a set of porcelain elephants that belonged to my grandma that had been given to me after she passed. They were gifted to her by one of her sisters, my great aunt, Doris who I dearly miss. I cherish those little elephants, because I’m reminded of those two ladies and what remarkable women they were. Each one was strong and independent in her own right and I giggle each time I think of them, because behind every memory I have, I remember a hearty laugh attached to each one.
How many creative ways do you have to show off your books?
I have the traditional bookshelves throughout my home, but I recently redid a 1950s antique toy car that I placed books inside of and around. My next project will be to take the back of a chair or a rocker and the seat, paint it and decorate it and mount it on the wall as another way to display my books. If you have any creative ideas about how you plan to display your books throughout your home, share them with me! I’d love to hear them. One of my favorite pastimes is sitting on the front porch, sipping hot coffee while rocking in one of my favorite rockers, and reflecting on events going on in my life.
I am looking forward to the springtime and the outdoor bbq’s, gathering with friends and family and going to the local nursery to pick out flowers and herbs to plant. My little bun Luce is certainly looking forward to all the new herbs that will be introduced into his diet too. Come on spring, we’re ready for ya! It’s no secret, authors love to read and I am no exception. I can’t pass by a bookstore without going inside one, and it’s fair to say that I have close to a thousand books on my shelves. I am currently trying to read through them, so I can pass them along to others who might enjoy them. I read all forms of books, whether it’s hardback, soft back, eBook or narrated, I love to read! I’ve always heard and firmly believe that what makes an author a great writer is the knowledge they gain from reading.
